Press Release: The Rochester RazorSharks

logo-razorsharksDecember 4th, 2012- ROCHESTER N.Y –  The Rochester RazorSharks are currently in the final process of interviewing candidates for the head coaching position.

A new era will begin following the departure of coach Rod Baker, who lead the RazorSharks to an impressive 147 – 36 overall record and four championships. Originally coaching the RazorSharks to an ABA championship in 2006, Baker transitioned his winning program to the PBL. Coach Baker led the Sharks to three additional Championships in the Premier Basketball League as well as being named Coach of the Year three times.

The RazorSharks have big shoes to fill in finding a successor. The management team has been working long hours at identifying, contacting and interviewing the best candidates available. The RazorSharks winning tradition has attracted the highest level of talent as they are keen on continuing their winning ways. Among the candidates being interviewed since the end of September, former NBA Player Cliff Levingston.

The retired basketball player played six season in the NBA with the Atlanta Hawks then joined the Chicago Bulls with whom he won two NBA championship rings in 1991 and 1992. He continued his career in Europe with the Greek league for two years and returned to the U.S to play with the Denver Nuggets. He retired from NBA in 1995 with career totals of 5,888 points, 4,307 rebounds, and 593 blocked shots.

In 2000, Levingston began his coaching career and won the USBL and coach of the year title as the  head coach of the Dodge City Legend.

His significant achievements and credibility make him a front runner for the position of head coach of the RazorSharks. We will need to wait a few more weeks to know the RazorSharks final decision. So who will lead the team to another Championship quest in 2013?
